I am Bob Benson and I make vegtable ivory buttons. My buttons are made from a rare palm seed that grows in Micronesia. This palm produces the largest seed of all the vegtable ivory palms in the world of which there are about 12 species. I embellish my buttons with many types of materials, such as Turquoise, mother of pearl, ammonite fossil, tiger-eye, dichroic glass, carved bone moon faces and florals.

I have many carved buttons made out of the same material carved in Bali. I have the the largest supply of this material outside Pohnpei island the only place in the world this particular tree grows. I have been making buttons for three years and make a large vegtable ivory button, over 1 1/4" -2" in diameter. Thanks for your interest.
